GT05_00 – Gender, Race and Diversity in Organisations General Track

The GRDO General Track aims to advance and disseminate new scholarship and debates, which address all forms of inequalities in the global political economy. In addition, it aims at addressing how policy measures may be devised to nurture the inclusion of marginalised voices and work towards the social justice and well-being of all individuals and communities. GRDO covers all knowledge and content relating to gender, race, and diversity within and outside organisational boundaries, including cultural, societal, political, and geographical levels, to illustrate the intersecting dynamics of differences on several scales.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):

Goal 1: No poverty, Goal 5: Gender equality, Goal 10: Reducing inequalities, Goal 16: Peace, justice and strong institutions, Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals

T05_04 – Harmonizing work: Dynamic roles, policies, and cultures in 21st-century organizations

The problems such as inequality and discrimination are issues of diversity management that commonly arise in organizations with a diversified workforce (Triana et al., 2021). The primary goal of a diversity management strategy should be to establish an egalitarian climate that respects people and their diversity. Thus to create an inclusive work environment that guarantees justice, engagement, tolerance, and equal opportunity for employees regardless of their differences, organizations have begun to constantly examine and update their diversity-related policies and activities (Mousa et al., 2020). By virtue of this track, we aspire to encounter these issues.

T05_06 – Role of Diversity, Equality and Inclusion in Careers and Leadership

Recent research suggests that practising diversity, equality and inclusion (DEI) is likely to play an important role in achieving organizations’ strategic outcomes like innovation and market reach as well as in creating social impact and sustainable development. There is thus a vital need to examine the dynamics of DEI with respect to career development and leadership across organisations, industries, professions, sectors, institutions and geographies. In line with the EURAM 2023 theme of ‘Transforming Business for Good’ we invite contributions from a broad range of foci to explore the Role of DEI in Careers and Leadership.

T05_07 – Workforce  diversity and sustainable business practices

Diversity encompasses organizational members with varied experiences, sexual orientations, cultural backgrounds, ethnicities, skills, opinions, and specializations. Diversity and inclusion initiatives can attract talent from a diverse talent pool and can also help improve the capacity for innovation and creativity within teams and organizations. Recent research has sought to understand workforce diversity, especially on corporate boards, to influence organizational ability to incorporate and develop sustainable business practices. Various avenues can be identified to recognize the significance of a diverse workforce and its link to the identification and implementation of sustainable business practices and the overall sustainability performance of companies worldwide.

UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG):

Goal 5: Gender equality, Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth, Goal 9: Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure, Goal 10: Reducing inequalities, Goal 11: Sustainable cities and communities, Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production
