Dear EURAM members and friends,
After moving our 2020 conference from June to December and from onsite to online, it appears that the present circumstances do not allow us to plan for a 2021 onsite event in Montreal due to prolonged sanitary measures and travel restrictions.
In these exceptional circumstances, we are planning to hold the EURAM 2021 Conference online and the Doctoral Colloquium 2021 online while maintaining the original dates: 16-18 June 2021 for the Conference and 14-15 June 2021 for the Doctoral Colloquium.
Our conference theme is “Reshaping capitalism for a sustainable world”.
We live in an interconnected world that faces great challenges in shaping its FUTURE. In response, we must find new ways to stimulate sustainable economic growth by creating new jobs and economic opportunities for all, serving society, protecting the environment and strengthen the global response to climate change. At the same time, we must learn to adjust to the pandemic’s ‘new normal’ and to cope with new threats that may arise in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, such as economic, financial and health crises, cyber threats, and large-scale humanitarian crises. To address these challenges, we must initiate a fair dialogue among all stakeholders and groups involved. These include scholars, private and public companies, other organisations, and policymakers at the national and supranational levels. Let’s work together to blur the boundaries between research and practice and find solutions for reshaping capitalism, in a context of pluralism of ideas, multiculturalism, diversity, and inclusion. Let these solutions transcend national boundaries and the narrow goals of each interest group.
The dialogue must address, openly and courageously, any dichotomies among the views of these stakeholders in regard to the timing and means for reshaping capitalism. We can learn from one each other, share ideas and engage collectively in the development of new knowledge that concerns, but is not limited to: new, sustainable paths to innovation that combine social innovation, digital innovation, artificial intelligence and human creativity; new entrepreneurial approaches that combine social entrepreneurship and financial entrepreneurship; new corporate governance practices across the world that address the competing demands of the numerous stakeholders of the Boards and the ability of companies to withstand a crisis; new approaches to strategy & corporate finance that help corporations to balance between their global approaches and their markets’ local needs; new, innovative and sustainable HRM practices and leadership styles in different cultural contexts; new business models aimed at creating economic, social and environmental value and sustainable patterns of consumption; new business practices and public policies throughout the world that seek to improve the wellbeing of our society, the health of our people, the future of our planet, and the strengths of our businesses, financial markets and industries.
In order to adopt a transdisciplinary approach that transcends the boundaries between sciences and combines academic work and professional practice, we expect that proposals will come from scholars from various cultural and academic backgrounds – management sciences, social sciences, environmental sciences, health sciences, communication, education, ICT or other related sciences.

For newcomers to our community: our 14 SIGs are the building blocks of EURAM. SIG Chairs and Officers nurture communities of scholars who are engaged in specific research areas. There are three types of Tracks. General Tracks are the overarching tracks of the SIGs. Standing tracks are ongoing conversations that you can join, and which will continue within a SIG for a number of years. Finally, every year there are Tracks that are selected in a competitive submission and review process (they may become standing tracks in the future if they prove to be of continued interest). Each SIG General Track invites contributions from all areas related to the SIG specific research area but which are not explicitly covered by other tracks within the SIG.

II. Deadline
Please respect the deadlines, especially the paper submission deadline: 12 January 2021 – 2 pm Belgian time.
III. Authors’ Guidelines for Full Papers
To ensure that it is possible to publish your paper in the proceedings it is essential that all authors strictly follow the guidelines and formatting instructions for both preparation and submission of all papers.
For EURAM 2021, the abstracts and full papers will be published in e-format and for the latter, accessible for registered delegates only.
The proceedings will carry the ISSN 2466-7498 and ISBN 978-2-9602195-3-1.
https://conferences.euram.academy/2021conference/authors-guidelines-for-full-papers/
Each paper will be screened to ensure compliance with EURAM’s guidelines. Papers which do not match the EURAM requirements will be desk-rejected and authors will not have the opportunity to submit an updated version.
Please read below instructions carefully prior to submitting and remember that you can select, if you wish, one or more of the Sustainable Development Goals your research addresses (UN SDGs):
- Each paper can only be submitted to ONE track.
- Submitted papers must NOT have been previously published and if under review, must NOT appear in print before the EURAM 2021 Conference.
- To facilitate the blind review process, remove ALL authors identifying information, including acknowledgements from the text, and document/file properties (any submissions with author information will be automatically DELETED; author information and acknowledgements are to be included in the submission form).
- The abstract should not exceed 400 words and should be included both in the PDF and the submission form.
- Include 3 keywords in the submission form. A maximum of 6 keywords is allowed.
- The entire paper (title page, abstract, main text, figures, tables, references, etc.) must be in ONE anonymised document created in PDF format.
- The maximum length of the paper is 40 pages (including ALL tables, appendices and references). The minimum length of the paper is 10 pages. The paper format should follow the European Management Review Style Guide.
As an overall principle
• For your abstract you may have up to 400 words.
• For your paper length, 40 pages maximum prevails over 9,000 words. - Use Times New Roman 12-pitch font, double spaced, and 1-inch (2.5 cm) margin all around.
- Number all the pages of the paper.
- No changes in the paper title, abstract, authorship, track and actual paper can occur AFTER the submission deadline.
- Check that the PDF File of your paper prints correctly and ensure that the file is virus-free. Submissions will be done on-line on the EURAM 2021 submission system (Submission Link: https://www.xcdsystem.com/euram/abstract/index.cfm?ID=iAxRA8X).
- Only submissions in English shall be accepted for review.
- In case of acceptance, the author or one of the co-authors should be available to present the paper at the conference. A presenting author * can only present one paper at the conference.
- If you submit a paper, you agree to review at least two papers for EURAM 2021 in the track you have submitted your paper to.
* ONE PRESENTING AUTHOR = ONE PAPER
Each individual is limited to one personal appearance on the programme as a presenting author. This policy precludes acceptance of papers for more than one presentation. In other words, an author can submit and present only one paper. However, a presenter can always be a non-presenting co-author on additional papers.
For more information, we invite you to visit the conference website.
Should you have any hesitation on which track to select for your paper, you may wish to contact a track chair by email to find the best fit for your submission.
For general questions, you may contact info@euram.academy.
Best wishes,
On behalf of the Local Organising Committee,
