Practical Information

Conference Venue

The EURAM 2025 conference is hosted by the University of Florence – School of Economics and Management. Address: University of Florence, Social Science Campus, Via delle Pandette, IT-50127 Firenze (FI)

The sessions will take place in several buildings on the campus. All are within easy walking distance from each other.

Take a look at the floor plans to become familiar with the buildings and classrooms.

How to reach the conference venue

You can easily reach the Conference venue by the Florence public tramway: the University Campus is located quite close to the T2 line of the tramway; get off at the ” San Donato – Università” stop and walk a short distance to the Campus.

Tramway is open every day (from 05.00 am to 12.30 am from Monday to Thursday and on Sundays, from 05.00 am to 02.00 am on Fridays and Saturdays) and there is a ride every 4-10 minutes maximum.

You can buy tickets at any tramway stop (at the automatic vending machines) at € 1,70 for a 90-minute ride. You can also buy tickets onboard using credit, debit, or prepaid cards, smartphones, and compatible wearables, using the ticket validation machine onboard. For any further info about the Florence Tramway, please click HERE.

By bus

There are also bus lines from the city center that go in the direction of “Novoli campus – University”. The numbers that identify these lines are 23, 29D, 30A, 55, and 57. As there are currently some roadworks affecting traffic circulation in Florence, it is recommended to use the official APP AT BUS (click HERE to download).

By taxi

A taxi should cost around 12-20 EUR. Ask to go to the “University of Florence – Polo di Novoli” main entrance. Once you arrive, look at the indications for the buildings D6 (Conference Registration)

Although the situation is changing rapidly in the direction of the spread of digital payments, in Italy taxis in many cases only accept cash payments. The taxi numbers are: +39 055 4242 and +39 055 4390. You can also use the apps IT taxi, AppTaxi and Taxi Move.

From Pisa airport

If you land at Pisa Airport, you can reach Florence by train or private shuttle bus:

  • Shuttle Buses: Several private companies offer direct service from Pisa Airport to Florence (Santa Maria Novella station). The journey takes around 70–90 minutes, depending on traffic. Tickets can be purchased online in advance or at the airport.
  • Train: Take the PisaMover from the airport to Pisa Centrale (5 minutes), then connect to a regional train to Florence Santa Maria Novella station (about 1 hour).

Important
During transportation strikes, shuttle buses may be more reliable. Trains usually operate during guaranteed time slots, but we recommend checking updated schedules before traveling.

From Florence Airport

If you land at Florence Airport, the easiest way to reach the conference venue is by tram.way Take Tramway Line T2 directly from the airport and get off at “San Donato – Università”. The ride takes about 15 minutes and stops just a few minutes’ walk from the campus. Tramway runs frequently throughout the day.

Luggage Storage

If you need to drop off your luggage during the conference, a storage service will be available during the following hours:

Sunday: 09:00 – 19:00 Building D6 – Room 007

Monday: 09:00 – 19:30 Building D1 – Ground Floor

Tuesday: 09:00 – 17:30 Building D1 – Ground Floor

Wednesday: 09:00 – 17:30 Building D1 – Ground Floor

Please note: It will not be possible to drop off or retrieve luggage outside of these specified hours, so make sure to plan accordingly. Outside of these hours, the organizing team does not have access to the building and any items left inside will remain there until the following day.

Conference Registration

The registration desk will be located in Building D6 – Ground Floor. The operating hours of the registration desk will be:

June 22, 2025 – Sunday 09:00 – 19:00

June 23, 2025 – Monday 08:00 – 19:00

June 24, 2025 – Tuesday 08:00 – 19:00

June 25, 2025 – Wednesday 08:00 – 19:00

Room Capacity

Due to safety regulations, the maximum attendance is limited by room capacity, meaning that once all seats are filled, the session is full and no one else can be admitted. The Organizing Committee, in collaboration with the Track and SIG Chairs, has endeavored to schedule all sessions by taking into account the estimated number of participants.

AV in the conference buildings

The University does not provide PCs in the classrooms.

SIG chairs, track chairs, session chairs presenting authors or panelists must bring their own laptop to use during the sessions. This also applies to symposia panelists.

All presenters should save their presentation on a USB and bring it to their session at the conference.

All meeting rooms and lecture halls are equipped with the following standard AV equipment:

  • Projector
  • HDMI connection
  • Microphone

Power outlets available in the classrooms are Schuko sockets, as shown in the picture.

These are compatible with Type C, F, and L plugs (see picture below).

Please ensure your device is compatible or bring the appropriate adapter.

How can I connect to the internet?

Eduroam is a free, global Wi-Fi service for students and university staff. You can also use it at many other universities around the world. If you are visiting from another university that uses Eduroam, you can connect to the service here using your own university login details.

UNIFI network will also be accessible during the conference. Connection instructions and the Wi-Fi password will be provided at the time of registration.

Publishers’ Plaza

The publishers’ plaza is located in the catering area (Shopping Mall San Donato – Ground Floor). They will be there for the duration of the conference.

Catering during EURAM 2025

Lunch and coffee break will be provided at the San Donato Shopping Mall (Via Enrico Forlanini, 1, 50127 Firenze FI) located just a 5-minute walk from the conference buildings. Food and refreshments will be available on the Ground Floor and the Balcony of the Second Floor.

Sustainability at EURAM 2025

Florence is one of the nine Italian cities selected to participate in the European Union’s “100 Climate-Neutral and Smart Cities by 2030” mission. This recognition reflects the city’s strong commitment to sustainability, innovation, and improving the quality of urban life.

At EURAM 2025, we embrace and support these goals by implementing a series of environmentally conscious practices throughout the conference:

  • Kilometer Zero Products Policy: We prioritize local and seasonal products. This “kilometer zero” approach reduces the environmental impact of transportation, supports regional producers, and ensures the highest quality food for participants.
  • No Plastic Policy: We are committed to making EURAM 2025 a plastic-free event. Only biodegradable and compostable materials will be used. We ask all participants to bring their own reusable water bottle, which can be refilled at the multiple water stations available in all main buildings on campus.
  • Green Mobility and Urban Nature: The conference venue is just steps away from one of Florence’s largest parks, considered one of the city’s green lungs—a perfect place to relax or enjoy a walk between sessions. To reach the city center from the conference venue, you can take advantage of Florence’s modern tram system (called “tramvia”), which is fully electric and designed to reduce pollution. It provides a fast, reliable, and environmentally friendly connection between key areas of the city, including the airport, the conference site, and the historic center. Florence also offers a wide range of sustainable transportation options, including bike-sharing, e-scooters, and car-sharing services, all of which support low-impact urban mobility. Let’s move around Florence in a greener way!

Waste and Recycling on Campus:  There is a range of bins in all buildings across campus, which are labelled and colour coded as follows. Please use this as necessary to keep our campus clean and tidy:

  • Yellow – papers
  • Light blue – cans and plastic bottles
  • Black – general waste
