Antinori, a family-owned business, has been producing wine for over 600 years. As one of the oldest wine producers in the world, it serves as a model for sustainable innovation, seamlessly blending centuries-old traditions with forward-thinking business practices.
Their state-of-the-art winery, located in the heart of Chianti, is a visible sign of commitment to sustainability. Built into the hillsides to minimize environmental impact, it integrates harmoniously with the Tuscan landscape, preserving the natural environment while supporting innovative production techniques.
This unique setting will provide the backdrop for an in-depth exploration of sustainability, purpose, and innovation at EURAM 2025.
Program of this ACTION lab:
- 10:45 AM: Departure from the campus by bus (transportation provided)
- 12:00 PM: Lunch at Fonte dei Medici. Participants will arrive at the Fonte de’ Medici estate, situated in the historic Chianti hills surrounding Florence. A traditional Tuscan lunch will be served in this setting, offering attendees a chance to experience the region’s renowned culinary traditions while networking in a unique environment
- Keynote: During the lunch, a keynote speaker will share insights on wine management, sustainability, family business, and purpose-driven business strategies. This session will provide an opportunity to reflect on the key themes of the Action Lab and engage in meaningful discussions on how organizations can integrate sustainability into their practices.
- 2.00PM: transfer by bus to reach the Antinori winery
- 2.30 PM – Winery Visit. Participants will explore the innovative and sustainable architecture of Antinori’s wine production facilities. The visit will provide insights into the company’s commitment to environmental sustainability, showcasing how technology and traditional winemaking practices are integrated. Attendees will gain a deeper understanding of how the production can be embedded within the natural landscape to minimize environmental impact.
- 4.00 PM: Wine Tasting & Networking: The Action lab concludes with a private tasting of four Antinori’s wines. This session will provide an opportunity to reflect on the day’s learnings while engaging in meaningful discussions and networking with peers from academia, business, and sustainability.
- 5.00 PM: Bus transfer back to the campus
Speaker: Vincenzo Zampi, Professor of Management, University of Florence
Vincenzo Zampi is a Professor of Innovation Management at the School of Economics and Management of the University of Florence, where he also served as Dean from 2013 to 2019. In addition to being a teacher and researcher in the field of Strategic Management and innovation, he has over thirty years of experience in the field of Wine Business; a topic he has dealt with not only as an academic but also as a wine producer and consultant. In 2000 he started a Master in Wine Management and Marketing that, to date, has allowed many of its graduates to become professionals in the wine industry.
