The objective of real-time simulation is to provide value for all three dimensions of sustainability: economic, social and environmental. It offers a framework that will enable a rethink and shift in mindset to appreciate how real-time simulation can change the way products are manufactured and services are produced.

A research paper titled “Who am I? Determinants of Young Consumer Need for Uniqueness in India” has been accepted for publication in the International Journal of Indian Culture and Business Management (An Inderscience Publication). A brief write-up is mentioned below.
Consumer’s need for uniqueness (CNFU) is a popular construct among western societies. The construct has been tested under different conditions and has been found useful. In this paper, our main aim is to understand the different personality traits of young consumers and how does it affect their buying behavior. It was found that market maven was significant and positively associated with all three forms of CNFU. Peer group influence was also found to have a positive impact on avoidance of similarity and unpopular choice. The role model was not found to be associated with one’s peer group influence, however, creative choice and unpopular choice counter-conformity were found to be positively associated with one’s role model. The study has implications for Multinational Corporations (especially from cosmetics, fashion, health, and luxury industry) targeting young consumers. Limitations and directions for future research have also been discussed.

The goal of this Special Issue entitled “Behavioral Strategy: (Re-) Affirming Foundations” for Management Research Review is to (re-)a!rm the foundations of Behavioral Strategy as conceived in its origins. In brief, research based on multi-level theories and/or multiple empirical approaches – based on primary data – that take into account the behavior of executives intertwining a”ective states and cognition are strongly encouraged, so that our collective e”orts will advance strategy as an act of human behavior rather than an application of tools.

Description of the Special Issue: Since the advent of the bounded rationality concept, scholars have been committed to understanding the role of cognition in organizations, by using motivational, social, and cognitive psychology lenses. As a result of their efforts, research over the last 40 years has greatly advanced the investigation of upper echelons’ strategic decision-making processes, in which top managers and board directors are regarded as playing a pivotal role in shaping organizational outcomes.

The Palgrave Macmillan debates in Business History book series is open to book (authored or edited) proposal!
The series seeks to provide a fulcrum for debate about the key issues of our time, be they debates as to the nature of capitalism, Western civilization, race, gender, epistemology, the environment. What the series is directed towards is one of encouraging empirically-informed debate. In other words, the series looks to provide a platform for work that is both empirical and theoretical. To facilitate this objective, the series will comprise 2 book formats, namely “Pivot” (25,000-50,000) and “Standard” (80,000 – 110,000). We anticipate that the Pivot format will prove particularly conductive to on-going debates within the series. Those intending to submit should contact one of the Editors or Associate Editors, namely Michael Heller (michael.heller@brunel.ac.uk), Bradley Bowden (b.bowden@griffith.edu.au), Jeffrey Muldoon (jmuldoon@emporia.edu) or Gabrielle Durepos (gabrielle.durepos@msvu.ca).
