Geopolitical threats, rapid technological developments, demographic changes, and excessive regulation require a strategic focus on adaptability for navigating in an unpredictable world.<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-1292673648724923439text-build-content\">In the age of disruption, management requires agility, innovation, and resilience. Statement about the use of generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) i<\/strong><strong><span lang=\"EN-US\">n scientific writing of papers<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-1292673648724923439text-build-content\">EURAM does not prohibit, in principle the use of generative AI to support research activities. The\u00a0<strong>use of AI<\/strong>\u00a0to generate ideas and \/or research questions, to analyse data, to support writing or for any other purposes in a submission to EURAM\u00a0<strong>should be transparently disclosed<\/strong>\u00a0in the manuscript, preferably in the literature review and\/or methods sections (it has to be visible for the reader and reviewers).<u><\/u><u><\/u><\/p>\n<p class=\"m_-1292673648724923439text-build-content\">Authors using AI in any step of their research process are responsible for ensuring the accuracy of AI-generated materials. AI tools cannot be listed as an author of a paper. AI tools used should be listed in the bibliography indicating: Author of the AI programme, year of the programme version used (in brackets), Name of AI (in italics), Version, if applicable (in brackets), Publisher, if different from the author, URL, if applicable. AI-assisted screening for paper submissions<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EURAM will be utilising a generative AI screening tool, developed by the University of Agder, to screen the submitted papers. <strong>Important clarifications<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Limited scope:<\/strong> The AI tool is used exclusively for technical screening of compliance with the <a href=\"..\/authors-guidelines-for-full-papers\/\">authors&#8217; guidelines<\/a>, e.g., page count, font, and anonymity. It does <strong>by no means<\/strong> assess the academic quality, merit, or content of the authors\u2019 research.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Data security and copyright protection:<\/strong> The AI tool operates as a proprietary, closed-source system developed by the University of Agder, meaning submissions are processed in a secure, private environment. The authors\u2019 research content is <strong>not shared<\/strong> with public AI models, incorporated into any training datasets, or exposed to the public domain. The authors\u2019 intellectual property and copyright remain fully protected throughout the screening and reviewing process. Additionally, all papers uploaded to the AI screening tool are <strong>permanently destroyed<\/strong> immediately <strong>following the completion of the screening proces<\/strong>s.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Human oversight guaranteed<\/strong>: Any submission flagged by the AI tool for <strong>potential non-compliance<\/strong> will be manually (re)screened by a <strong>member of the conference local team<\/strong> to verify the assessment before any action is taken. Primary authors will then be contacted by EURAM HQ to edit their papers as needed.<\/li>\n<li><strong>No automated desk rejections<\/strong>: The AI screening tool does <strong>not make final decisions<\/strong> about the<strong> desk rejection of papers<\/strong> that have not been brought into compliance with the authors\u2019 guidelines, following a series of warning messages sent to the primary author by EURAM HQ. The <strong>final decision-making<\/strong> about the desk rejection of papers remains <strong>entirely in the hands of human screeners<\/strong> and the EURAM 2026 Congress Programme Committee.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><strong>Why is the preliminary screening of papers important<\/strong> The preliminary screening of papers against the <a href=\"..\/authors-guidelines-for-full-papers\/\">authors&#8217; guidelines<\/a> ensures that reviewers can concentrate on evaluating the academic quality and contribution of the authors\u2019 research. It also helps ensure consistency in applying formatting guidelines while reducing administrative processing time. Blind, peer reviewing of papers<\/strong> The double blind, peer review process for evaluating the scientific contribution and quality of the authors\u2019 work remains <strong>completely human-driven,<\/strong> following established EURAM academic standards. The <strong>use of AI<\/strong> or Large Language Models (LLM) tools to review papers from an academic standpoint submitted to the EURAM conference<strong> is totally prohibited,<\/strong> as it would jeopardise the confidentiality of the peer-review process, which is a cornerstone of the academic system.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center\"><strong>Reviewers must not use AI tools to generate their review reports.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>VII. European Management Review \u2013 Professional Development Workshop\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Under the auspices of the EURAM Vice-President for Research, and with the support of the EURAM Vice-President for SIGs and the SIG Chairs, <em>European Management Review<\/em>\u00a0(EMR) is launching a PDW that will be held at the EURAM 2026 conference.<\/p>\n<p>The PDW will be structured in one-to-one colloquia between one EMR Editor and the author(s) of conference papers selected by SIGs for either the \u2018best paper\u2019 award or the \u2018most inspirational paper\u2019 award. Each EMR editor will engage with the authors of maximum four papers in a roundtable format in a designated slot at the conference.<\/p>\n<p>The PDW aims to offer EURAM members an additional service to help authors improve their papers before the initiation of a submission and review process at a journal. Direct discussions with a journal editor can be of much value for improving the quality of the research reported in a paper.
