Although research in project management has addressed the embeddedness of projects within their context, we need to understand the specificities of major and megaprojects\u2019 institutional and organizational contexts, i.e. how actors collaborate, coordinate, and innovate in these temporary yet long-lasting, transformative and evolutive environments. At the global level, there are over 40 million modern slaves, Corruption delays delivery times and increases infrastructure costs, reduces the quality of infrastructure services. While topics such as corruption have been sparsely studied, others such as modern slavery are virtually absent. Given that more than one third of all human activities is based on projects, the mutual impacts of projects on economy and society are undeniable.
