justify;\">Types of sessions<\/h3>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<li>Competitive paper sessions<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"#paper\">Paper Development Sessions<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><\/h4>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Competitive Paper Sessions<\/h3>\n<p>Competitive paper sessions are regular sessions where three or four papers are presented. Sessions will last 1.5 hours (90 minutes).<\/p>\n<p>Authors will have about 10 to 15 minutes to present their work. A discussant \u2013 if the SIG \/ Track has allocated discussants to a session &#8211; will then have about 5 to10 minutes to provide comments and feedback. The remainder of the time is left for discussion, questions and comments. All attendees are invited to participate in the debate.<\/p>\n<p>A presenting author at the EURAM 2021 Online conference has the opportunity to submit a short teaser video of his\/her presentation (two minutes maximum). The teaser video should attract the other delegates to the paper session. Authors may wish to have some keywords or a diagram on a slide while they talk them through their abstract.<\/p>\n<p>These links will provide further instructions on how to self-record the short 2 minute teaser and how to upload pre-recorded presentations on the paper platform, X-CD:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Video with Instructions for speakers to self-record:<br \/>\n<a href=\"https:\/\/support.x-cd.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/recording-instructions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/support.x-cd.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/recording-instructions<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/support.x-cd.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/recording-instructions\">\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li>Instructions for speakers to upload pre-recorded presentation video:<br \/>\n<a style=\"text-align: justify;\" href=\"https:\/\/support.x-cd.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/how-to-upload-a-pre-recorded-presentation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">https:\/\/support.x-cd.com\/portal\/en\/kb\/articles\/how-to-upload-a-pre-recorded-presentation<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Roles and responsibilities in Competitive Paper Sessions<\/h3>\n<p>Chairpersons of competitive paper sessions (mandatory):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reading papers to be presented in the session in advance.<\/li>\n<li>Contacting the discussant in advance of the conference to make sure she\/he knows her\/his role.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that the session starts and ends on time.<\/li>\n<li>Introducing the discussant, each author and their papers.<\/li>\n<li>Enforcing time limits on the presenters and the discussant.<\/li>\n<li>Ensuring that Q&amp;A part runs smoothly.<\/li>\n<li>Coordinating with the Track Chair.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Discussants in competitive paper sessions (optional):<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Reading papers to be presented in the session in advance to prepare comments and feedback.<\/li>\n<li>Providing constructive feedback to each paper by \u2013 for instance &#8211; pointing out similarities and differences between the papers or helping to the further development of the paper by asking critical but constructive questions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Authors:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If the paper is accepted, registering for and attending the conference to present it.<\/li>\n<li>Acting as session chair or discussant if requested.<\/li>\n<li>Respecting deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Presenting his\/her paper within the time limits established by the organisation and the chairperson of the session.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If for any reason the author cannot present the paper she\/he should inform the EURAM local organising committee (<a href=\"mailto:info@euram.academy\">info@euram.academy<\/a>) before the paper is included in the final programme. Failure to do so will trigger the EURAM \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/conferences.euram.academy\/2021conference\/no-show-policy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">No\u2010Show Policy<\/a>\u201d\u00a0for that particular author.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><a name=\"paper\"><\/a>Paper Development Sessions<\/h3>\n<p>PDS are designed and organised by the SIG leadership team before the conference in cooperation with their track chairs.
