approaches to delivering\u00a0learning\u00a0outcomes. What started as strategic initiatives with timelines measured in\u00a0years turned into a massive and unprecedented\u00a0transition that essentially took\u00a0place over a weekend. It wasn\u2019t always pretty, and it was not without pain, awkwardness\u00a0and challenge,\u00a0but in the space of a few days the world of academia made a massive\u00a0shift from the physical to the virtual realm.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">What started as a transition of necessity is now a journey\u00a0of opportunity as institutions reinvent what is possible in the classroom, and\u00a0what classrooms can look like. Many have learned the hard way that simply\u00a0transitioning formal classroom techniques to Zoom doesn\u2019t\u00a0work. This panel\u00a0discussion explores what best practices, insights and lessons learned (often\u00a0the hard way) have emerged from an\u00a0extraordinary transition online. We will explore\u00a0what we have learned and what we have struggled with. In particular, we will focus\u00a0on\u00a0what is necessary to sustain engagement, help students find meaning and build\u00a0understanding, and deliver meaningful and successful\u00a0learning outcomes in very\u00a0different environments.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Rob Cassidy, Director, Centre for Teaching and Learning, Concordia University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Diego M. Coraiola, Assistant Professor of Management, University of Alberta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Diego is Assistant Professor of Management at Augustana Campus, University of Alberta. He is interested in the study of temporality, identity, and practices. His research has been published in a variety of journals including Strategic Management Journal, Organization Studies, and Journal of Business Ethics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Linda M. Dyer, <\/strong><strong>Professor of Management, John Molson School of Business, Concordia University<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Linda Dyer studies the establishment of relationships between the owners of small firms and their employees, as well as how owner-managers interact with professional business advisors. A second stream of research is the organizational impact of demographic diversity, specifically in age, ethnicity and gender. Her research draws on diverse fields including individual cognition, learning and cognitive biases, and the interplay between emotions and cognition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">She has published articles in journals such as the\u00a0Journal of Managerial Psychology, the\u00a0Journal of Small Business Management, the\u00a0International Journal of Small Business, Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, and the\u00a0Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, as well as chapters in various books.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Bill Foster, Professor, Management, University of Alberta<\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Bill Foster is a Professor of Management at Augustana Campus, University of Alberta.
